Utsumi Kali (内海 カーリー) (born 16 September 1984) is one of the residents of SPHIA throughout Remember 11. A temporarily retired teacher, she is a kind, intelligent, and practical woman and is clearly recognised as the mother of the group. Indeed, she represents the Great Mother in Remember 11.
Though outwardly patient and comforting, Utsumi carries secret burdens. She is not forthcoming regarding her reason for being at SPHIA; this, and her sometimes strange behaviour make her a suspicious figure.
Utsumi is later revealed as the wife of Yomogi Seiji; together they bore a son named Junichi. Utsumi bears a murderous grudge against Inubushi Keiko, whom she holds responsible for Junichi's death in the incident at Awazumi Hospital.

- The name "Kali" comes from the Hindu goddess Kali. Kali is known as the Divine Mother, Mother of the Universe.
- "Utsumi" means bay or inlet. A bay is surrounded by land that reduces the strength of winds and blocks waves, making it safe to dock ships and fish. Like a mother, the bay keeps those in its care safe from the troubles of the outside world.
