Kindle Imagine Develop, also known as KID, was a Japanese company founded in 1988, specialising in porting and developing computer games. The company declared bankruptcy in 2006, but remains known for its Infinity series of visual novels which began in the year 2000. In 2004, KID released Remember 11: The Age of Infinity, which is the third game in the Infinity series and the focus of this Wikia.

History[]

Kindle Imagine Develop was founded in 1988 with capital of 160 million yen. In the 1990s, it was mainly known for being a contract developer, as well as porting PC games to games consoles. In 1999, KID released the title Memories Off for Playstation, which became the first entry in a well-known visual novel series.

This was followed in the year 2000 by Never 7: The End of Infinity, the first entry in the flagship Infinity series, which included Ever 17: The Out of Infinity (released in 2002) and Remember 11: The Age of Infinity (released in 2004). This was due to continue with 12Riven: The Psi-Climinal of Integral, however KID filed for bankruptcy in 2006 which led to production of that visual novel being halted.

12Riven was later acquired and released by CyberFront in 2008. CyberFront acquired KID's intellectual properties in 2007, until CyberFront itself closed in December 2013. The parent company, Kaga Create, closed in December 2015.

Presently, KID's former websiteredirects to the website of 5pb. Games, a section of the 5pb. company which is responsible for the Science Adventure series of visual novels (including Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate). A number of developers from the original KID now work for 5pb. Games, which has continued to publish the Memories Off series as well as remaking Ever 17 in 2011.
